 Given the current rapid growth in the gene therapy sector, it is imperative that downstream processing doesn’t apply a handbrake to recent gains made in increasing AAV vector upstream process scale and titer. In a recent webinar, a panel of AAV vector processing experts discussed whether the potentially conflicting drivers of increasing the efficiency versus the sensitivity and robustness of downstream vector processing is reflected in today’s purification toolkit, and asked ‘what’s next?’ in terms of further development.
